What you’ll do
Oversee the RTP anatomic pathology department, including histology and contract pathologists
Collaborate with the executive medical director of anatomic pathology to ensure continuity across testing sites
Conduct preliminary pathology review (H&E review for specimen adequacy for NGS) for both research and clinical specimens
IHC sign out, with a focus on non-22c3 PD-L1 clones, challenging MMR cases and other predictive biomarkers for antibody drug conjugates (i.e. HER2)
Management of all contract physicians responsible for IHC/path review, including scheduling, clinical QA review, new contractor onboarding and training and assistance with IT troubleshooting, HR, and billing issues
Participation in research projects as well as lab innovation projects, i.e. development of digital/remote pathology review, AI initiatives, new assay validation and other algorithms that necessitate Anatomic Pathology input, experience and collaboration
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team focused on answering key biological questions and keeping up with TMO (Tempus Molecular Ontology) cohorts
Serve as a clinical consultant and provide decision support for external physicians, laboratories, and pharma customers
Work to maintain CLIA/CAP compliance and manage onsite anatomic pathology laboratory inspections
Regularly sync with all pre-sequencing teams including accessioning, histology, lab operations, digital pathology scanning and extractions teams
Cover weekend NGS pathology review at least 1 Saturday per month
Preferred Qualifications

MD with current medical license (NC and IL licensure to be obtained prior to start date)
American Board of Pathology Certification in Anatomic Pathology (subspecialty certification/experience preferred)
3+ years of clinical experience in anatomic pathology signout
Excellent managerial, organizational, reporting and communication skills
Experience ensuring compliance of a clinical laboratory to regulatory standards
Experience working in a regulated clinical laboratory environment (CLIA/CAP/NYSDOH/QSR)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and set priorities to support patient care and scientific innovation
